free stuff
Hey everyone,
Sorry bout the title just wanted to grab your attention! Now that I have it please read on!!!
It seems to me that in this age of the Celtic Tiger that most of us have second hand gear lying around our sheds or gardens or under the bed that we never use and can't sell. On the other hand, kayakers in many third world countries are paddling with unsafe and sub standard equipment since they cant afford new gear and even if they could there are no kayaking shops.
I'm planning to gather up second hand gear and transport it to these countries where it would be exchanged for souvenirs, art work, jewelry etc.
So I'm asking everyone to please please gather up the gear that is never used and contact me. I'll come and pick it up and send you back some cool stuff from somewhere foreign!!! Its also a great way to make contacts with paddlers in other countries.
This is a non profit scheme - just an exchange where everyone's a winner!!

Hi There,
Firstly I would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who has contacted me in relation to the above post. To those who have not yet managed to check the shed or garage or moldy gear bag - please do so!
Secondly I will be available at the following locations to collect any gear people may have:
Team Trials at Sluice, Clifden and Gower
The Flesk River Jam and Kerry circa New Years
and any other gathering of paddlers that happens to come up!
I would appreciate it if you could let me know in advance if you are going to be at any of these locations with gear so I can make logistical provisions and make sure that I dont miss you.
If you cannot make any of these events but would like to donate gear - no problem - I would be happy to come and collect it from you
