Summer 2008 late gap year

Help needed please for rivers in Iran and Pakistan. thinking of heading over land to New Zealand through Iran and Pakistan. I have a few leads to follow but more help needed. (This is only in its idea stage.)

I dont actually have any info for you on ur trip, but i've been wanting go over land to nz for ages now and would be really interested to find out how u do and stuff. I'm the same and not sure if its actually possible or not. just idea floating around in the old head of mine. so yeah, be cool to hear how u get on etc.

At present just in the planning stages, so any ideas-help much appreciated, but general idea is to follow route of the Oz bus, stopping and paddling on route! I'm plannining to start in france, Italy Turkey .....

aye thats what i was thinking ud do to. meant a guy in jaipur, when i was in india last year, who traveled from belfast to there on his motorbike. he was aiming for oz!!
although was also thinking u could go north. urkaine, russia, kazakhanstan, serbia, mongolia, then down through china etc. friend of mine kayaked seberia and mongolia this summer and loved it. and heard china is also amazing. not sure what boating is like in iran etc. also with political situation at the moment etc. anyway just my thoughts.. as i said.. i havent got anything planned for immediate future. how long u planning on taking to do this mongo trip?? man im so jealous!! fair play to ya

Have had a quick chat with Rob.

I am planning to take a year out. driving, paddling, (as far as we can go) hopefully onto India from Pakistan after Iran That as far as I've looked. Until either the international borders's stop us. (or the car gets hit by a present from that nice Mr. Bush!)
