Rules: There are no new European Rules out yet, rumor has it there will be revised rules out before the euros but for now we are using this.
http://82.195.128.132/cgi-bin/sqwebmail?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.canoe-europe.org%2Frules%2Ffreestyle%2Frules.freestyle.amended2007.pdf×tamp=1266415219&md5=pp3AJ2OK5rdB0wy9vkeQ6w%3D%3D
Euros: So all the details we have on the Euros it that the date is June 16th -19th in Lienz Austria. There is a Euro Cup event on in Lienz in July too but as far as we know now its the June dates for the European champs. It has been pointed out to me that these dates clash with Junior and Leaving Certificate Exams. I don't know if there is anything that can be done about it but for now everyone affected should be aware of this if you would still like to compete for the team great competition is always good and pushes the sport. If you are selected and can't travel we will pick the next available highest finishing paddler to take that place.
I hope this covers everything. Any and all questions to competitions@irishfreestyle.com
regards
mikef
Some changes have had to be made to venues and dates for the up coming events. venues on weekends have swapped the the first event is Saturday week.

Why is that practically every time such an event is organised, its details are changed at very short notice? Does nobody involved in organising these events realise that some people do have to plan things in advance?
Looking at the tides, it's apparent that if the Tuam / Clifden event has to take place at Clifden, 27 Feb. is better than 14 Mar. but damn it - tides are known for a LONG time in advance. Why was it ever proposed to hold the Sluice event on the February date?
Please forgive my ranting. I don't take part in these events myself (if you've ever seen me paddling, you'll know why) but my son does, and he relies on me for transport, and I do need to plan some things in advance, and I'm sure I can't be the only one.
ECA website is down. Jackie said ECA are revising there rules, would that mean there going to change to ICF, which would seem to make a lot of sense. UK Freestyle used ICF rules in there team trials foor Euros, should we be doing the same?
Anyway is there any other way of getting these older rules?
Cheers
Tomás :)

Best of luck to all competing!
